A Christian and a Hindu – Ravi Ravindra
Sunday 5th October – 6pm UK Time
a zoom talk by Ravi Ravindra
A seeker coming from the Hindu background is especially delighted to learn something about the teachings of the Christ who oozed out love in all his expressions and actions. Also, he is struck by the emphasis in Christian teachings about taking care of one’s neighbours and the world whereas in Hinduism the call seems to be to move away from the manifested world which is regarded as an illusion. A Christian searcher is struck by the call in much of the Hindu scriptures to relate with the particle of the Highest Divine energy in the depth of each person’s being. A searcher on a spiritual journey inevitably becomes aware of the Divine Presence all around him and begins to understand that his closest neighbour is God, and that Divine Neighbour is attracting seekers from many different cultural and religious backgrounds wishing to come closer and closer to Him and become one with Him.
Then the two searchers will happily exchange the ups and downs on their journey, including the obstacles created by their organized religions and the encouragements brought by the blessed sages in their traditions.

Ravi’s search has led him to the teachings of G.I. Gurdjieff, Jiddu Krishnamurti, yoga, Zen, and into a deep immersion in the mystical teachings of the classical Indian and Christian traditions..
